Mike Ayala - When Life Gives You Clues, Make It Happen!

In today’s episode, we talk to Mike Ayala. Mike grew up in the construction management business. His first fixer was a multi-million dollar casino. He is involved in over 2,000 projects worth more than a billion dollars including multifamily properties, hospitals, courthouses, federal buildings, mills, gold processing facilities and a shopping center. In 2009, his construction company made it to the list as one of the fastest growing companies in America. At present, he found the passion in inspiring people what “Entrepreneurship should do it for yourself” means through his podcast called Investing for Freedom.

As Mike joins Mark, he emphasizes that we can orchestrate our future by listening to the clues that life throws at us and actually doing something about it. Through Mike, we learn how reading the clues around us helps us gain clarity, insight, and understanding. It allows us to see the big picture and define our ultimate purpose, passion, and gifts. As per Mike, his gift is knowing what he is good at, and using it to his advantage.

You owe it to yourself to pull in these clues and tips. If you want to attain freedom in business, then listen to this episode. This episode might be the life clue you are waiting for!

What You’ll Learn In Today’s Episode:

  • In real estate and business, it’s essential to prepare. But, you can’t know everything. You gotta be also willing to step into the void, let go of paralysis of analysis. Look, you’ll mess up! But that’s part of it. You’ll learn from it. The active doing of taking your shot is crucial, so as Mike puts it, “take messy action, that’s okay!”

  • Coaches and mentors were crucial to Mike’s growth and massive success. He was always reaching out to find someone to teach him, to guide him, and it made a big difference. It cost money, but it attributes much of his success to the coaches and mentors he sought out and learned from. The value’s far greater than the expense. I like this quote: “If you are the smartest guy in the room, you need to get a bigger room.”

  • As the founder of his company, Mike tried to be involved in every issue and decision until he realized that trying to connect with every employee was burning him out. He discovered that he is much more effective by having a few key people keep him updated on what the team is doing. He learned to set the vision and the direction and let his team execute. As an Entrepreneur, your job is to shape the vision, then develop leaders to execute it.
